Weaver’s girls are dominating the Class 1A-5A field through two days of the state wrestling tournament.
Weaver’s girls enter the final day with 147 points. Second place Cleburne County has 44.
The state tournament concludes Saturday with consolation finals and championship finals in Huntsville’s Von Braun Center.
This year marks the first year for the 1A-5A division since the AHSAA sanctioned girls’ wrestling. Weaver finished fifth at state in 2024, behind four Class 7A teams.
Rounding out the top 10 are Montevallo (40), Alexandria (37.5), Arab (33), Tallassee (27), East Limestone (25), Fultondale (22) and Leeds (21). Saks and St, John Paul II (18) are tied for 10th.

Tallassee leads the 1A-4A division with 174.5 points, followed by three-time defending champion Weaver (133.5). Rounding out the top 10 are Oak Grove (103), Alexandria (100.5), Reeltown (57.5), Piedmont (54.5), Ashville (54), St. James (49), Fultondale (45.5), Dora (43.5).
