Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help in Solving Recent Property Crimes and Narcotics Investigation as well Highlights ‘Catch of the Week’

Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.

Incident 1: Sometime between 2/2/25 and 2/18/25, someone stole a Forest 5th Wheel Trailer from a residence on Kirksey’s Bend Road in Ohatchee.

Incident 2: Sometime between 2/15/25 and 2/16/25, a white 2014 Nissan Sentra with a black front bumper was stolen from the area of Old Borden Springs Road and Vigo Road in Piedmont.

Incident 3: Sometime between December 2024 and 2/24/25, a storage unit was broken into on Hwy 21 S in Oxford. Some tvs, a gaming console, video games, and AT&T tv box receivers were stolen.

Incident 4: Sometime between 2/12/25 and 2/24/25, a storage unit was broken into on Friendship Road in Oxford. Miscellaneous household items and papers were stolen.

Catch of the Week: Investigators were conducting a narcotics investigation when they developed information suggesting that Sidney Brooks was hiding in a residence on Chickasaw Drive in Anniston. A search warrant was executed, and a drone was deployed to assist in the search. The drone located Brooks hiding in the attic, where he was holding a large knife. After some time, Brooks descended from the attic and was arrested. He faces charges of Probation Violation – Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
