Award-Winning Musical Hadestown Comes to Oxford on March 18

Oxford, AL – The Oxford Performing Arts Center will host a performance of the critically acclaimed Broadway musical Hadestown on Tuesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at 100 E Choccolocco St., Oxford, AL.

Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, Hadestown is a celebrated production created by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812).

The musical presents a reimagining of two intertwining myths—the tragic love story of Orpheus and Eurydice and the powerful tale of King Hades and Persephone. Through mesmerizing melodies and poetic storytelling, Hadestownexplores themes of love, sacrifice, faith, and struggle in a world where industry clashes with nature.

Audiences can expect a haunting yet hopeful theatrical journey, brought to life by a talented ensemble of actors, dancers, and musicians. The production has been praised for its dynamic staging, emotional depth, and unforgettable score.
