Severe Weather Alert – Multiple Rounds Expected

Calhoun County, AL – Residents of Calhoun County and surrounding areas should remain weather-aware as multiple rounds of severe storms are expected from Thursday through early Sunday morning. The most significant threats are anticipated Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning, with damaging winds, large hail, and the possibility of tornadoes.

  • Main impact area: Mostly northwest Alabama

Saturday Night into Sunday – Highest Threat

  • Damaging winds up to 70 mph
  • Tornadoes possible, some may be strong
  • Hail up to tennis ball size

Community saferooms will be open when Calhoun County is under a tornado watch. While some are operated by the county, others fall under different agencies. Residents should check with the respective managing agency for rules and policies.
