PLEASANT VALLEY, AL – Pleasant Valley, Alexandria complete area sweeps in baseball. Oxford wins in softball, falls in one-run baseball game. Randolph County tops Wellborn in softball.

Noah Johnson went 2-for-2 with two doubles, five RBIs and four runs, and Pleasant Valley beat visiting Donoho 15-5 on Wednesday to complete a Class 2A, Area 13 sweep.

Dallas Roper was 2-for-3 with four RBIs, and Wesley Wheeler had a single and two RBIs.

Cooper Dougal had a double, two runs and an RBI, and Will Underwood had a single, two runs and an RBI. Peyton Mann added a single, a run and an RBI.

Application

Leadoff hitter Logan Williams was 2-for-3 with four runs, and Dixon Duncan had a single and two runs.’

Donoho’s Hartwell Church went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Kai Cleckler went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI. Sam Montgomery added a single and an RBI, and leadoff hitter Jordan Cameron went 2-for-4 with a run.

ALEXANDRIA 11-16, WHITE PLAINS 10-5: Garrett Haynes’ two-run single in the top of the seventh inning put Alexandria up 11-9 in the first game, and the Valley Cubs won 11-10 on the way to completing a Class 4A, Area `12 sweep of White Plains.

Alexandria won the second game 16-5.

Haynes went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and a run in the first game. Leadoff Jeremiah Heathcock went 2-for-3 with three runs. Cooper Smith and Bray Goode each had a single, two runs and an RBI.

Emmitt Pinson added a single and two runs, and Sawyer Coggins had a single and a run.

White Plains’ Aiden Kilgore had a double, three RBIs and a run, and Beau Madrigal went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Crew Martin and Ashton Wallace added a single, a run and an RBI apiece, and Dalton Luker had a double and a run.

Alexandria’s Jacob Slaton had three RBIs and a run in Game 2. Jacob Cunningham went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Pinson had a double and two RBIs, and Heathcock had a single and an RBI. Coggins went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI, and Jace Loggins had two runs and an RBI.

Heathcock got the win, allowing two hits, two walks and two earned runs with four strikeouts in four innings.

White Plains’ Jacob Stamm had a double and two RBIs, and Wallace was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Patrick Sams had a single, two runs and an RBI.

CLEBURNE COUNTY 14, WOODLAND 4: Gavin Robinson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs as Cleburne County improved to 8-4.

Asher Brown went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Matthew Wilson had a single and two RBIs. Aiden Laminack went 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs and an RBI, and Luke Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Tyler Rucker went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Gabriel Wickersham had a single, two runs and an RBI. Hunter Gore added a single and two runs.

Rucker got the win, allowing five hits and no earned runs with six strikeouts in five innings. Wickersham allowed two hits and struck out two batters in one inning of relief.

Woodland’s Garrett Hendrix went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, Andrew Sanchez singled with an RBI and scored a run, and Paxton Gowens added an RBI.

ITAWAMBA AG 4, OXFORD 3: Oxford’s Nick Richardson went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Reid Maniscalco was 2-for-3 with an RBI. The Yellow Jackets (10-7) also got a single and RBI apiece from Bryson Bradford and Rocco Maniscalco.

Colton Parten allowed three hits and four walks but no runs with six strikeouts in five innings.

Softball

OXFORD 7, LINCOLN 4: Emma Tims-Becerra went 2-for-4 at the plate and got the win in the circle, spreading out eight hits over six innings and allowing two earned runs and no walks with two strikeouts as Oxford improved to 5-7.

Koriyah Kimbrough had a single and an RBI, and Haleigh Pruitt scored two runs and had an RBI. Jordyn Alexander also scored two runs.

The Yellow Jackets took advantage of 10 walks.

Lincoln’s Aubrey Machen went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Addison Campbell was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

RANDOLPH COUNTY 8, WELLBORN 6: Randolph County (5-5) got two hits apiece from Gracie Huckeba, Bryer Thompson, Gracie Robinson, Hannah Parmer, Kinsley Weathers, Aniyah Lee and Macie Smith.

Lee had a double, and the Tigers got an RBI apiece from Huckeba, Robinson, Parmer and Smith.

Lizzie Milam got the win, allowing five hits, no walks and one earned run with nine strikeouts in seven innings.

Wellborn’s Cassidy Gray went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run. Leadoff Destiny Benefield went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs.

Jordan Hunt and Hannah Grubbs each had a single and an RBI.
