TALLADEGA COUNTY, AL — A two-vehicle crash on Monday evening, June 9, resulted in the death of an Eastaboga man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The incident occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Alabama 21, near the 241-mile marker, less than a mile south of Munford. Authorities report that Benjamin A. Ricks, 29, was fatally injured when the 2020 Jeep Renegade he was driving collided head-on with a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The Freightliner was driven by Thomas B. Rudd, 42, of Sylacauga. Ricks was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
