Calhoun County, AL – Calhoun County recognized four ribbon cutting ceremonies this week, highlighting continued investment in services, commerce, and community engagement across the region.
In Anniston, East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) celebrated renovations to its campus. The improvements are designed to enhance the organization’s ability to serve individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the county. Staff, supporters, and community leaders gathered to mark this milestone and reaffirm their commitment to inclusive services.

In downtown Weaver, Smith’s Construction commemorated the opening of its new location at 200 Main Street. The company, known for its construction and development services across the area, now operates from a more central and accessible space. Local officials and residents attended to welcome the business to its new home.

Also in Anniston, Mathew’s Meat Market held a ribbon cutting at its new storefront at 3050 US Highway 78 East. The market, offering fresh meats and locally sourced goods, drew community support as it opened its doors to customers at the expanded location.

In Alexandria, Dr. House Paws was welcomed during a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the Alexandria Community Center. The mobile veterinary service, which brings pet care directly to homes, received a warm reception from attendees. The event marked an exciting step forward in providing accessible animal care to the area.
