Anniston, AL – The Georgia-Alabama Land Trust (GALT) will host its 5th annual Wing Night on Friday, August 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Weaver Cave Preserve in Anniston, AL. The event offers a unique opportunity to witness the mass emergence of endangered gray bats while learning more about local conservation efforts.
Wing Night is a free community event open to all ages. Guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments provided by local sponsors Frios Gourmet Pops and WM Grocery. The evening will also feature an educational talk by Aimee Grey of the Anniston Museum of Natural History, who will speak about the importance of gray bat conservation and the ecological significance of the species.
The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular sight of thousands of gray bats emerging from Weaver Cave for their nightly foray, an event that continues to captivate attendees year after year.

Parking will be available at the preserve (1000 Cave Road, Anniston, AL 36206), with signage and volunteers assisting with traffic flow. Chairs and water will be provided, and donations to support GALT’s conservation work are welcome.
