ANNISTON, AL – The Anniston Museums and Gardens will offer a unique opportunity for nature lovers and aspiring artists during its Tree Ring Art Workshop on Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m. The hands-on event invites participants to create one-of-a-kind prints using real tree rings, providing a blend of artistic expression and natural history.
Attendees will learn how to prepare wood cross-sections, apply ink, and press them onto paper to reveal the intricate patterns that tell the story of each tree’s growth over time. The workshop introduces basic printmaking techniques and encourages exploration of how nature and art intersect.
Open to individuals aged 12 and older, the class is designed for all experience levels. All materials will be provided. The cost to participate is $10 per person, with a $5 discount available for Anniston Museums and Gardens members.
Class size is limited to 12 participants, and pre-registration is required to attend.
The Tree Ring Art Workshop will be held on the museum grounds located on Museum Drive in Anniston.
