Sylacauga Man Killed in ATV Crash After Striking Deer

Traffic Fatality -- Talladega County

TALLADEGA COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) claimed the life of a Sylacauga man early Monday morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Sept. 29. Willie F. Martin, 55, was fatally injured when the 2020 Yamaha YFZ450 ATV he was operating struck a deer, left the roadway, and overturned.

Martin was ejected from the ATV and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash happened on Oakland Road, approximately two miles west of Sycamore in Talladega County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate. No further information is currently available.
