Oxford to Host Major League Fishing’s 2025 Patriot Cup

OXFORD TO HOST MAJOR LEAGUE FISHING COMPETITION

Oxford, AL — Major League Fishing (MLF), the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, has announced that Oxford, Alabama, will serve as the host city for the third event of the 2025 Fishing Clash Team Series Presented by Bass Pro Shops — the Patriot Cup. The event will run from Wednesday, October 22, through Monday, October 27.

Hosted by the City of Oxford, the six-day competition will follow MLF’s signature Cup protocols, with all fishable waters within 60 miles of Oxford now officially off-limits to competitors. Each morning, anglers will only learn their fishing location upon arrival at the day’s boat ramp, preserving the suspense and fairness of competition. Anglers are driven directly to their launch sites by officials, and the MLFNOW! live broadcast begins daily at 9 a.m. CT.

Oxford Mayor Alton Craft expressed enthusiasm about the event’s arrival. “The city of Oxford is excited to welcome Major League Fishing as our city is honored to play host to their 2025 Fishing Clash Team Series on October 22-27,” said Craft. “This Patriot Cup competition featuring 12 two-man teams of Bass Pro Tour anglers, in combination with a unique element of daily surprise fishing locations, will provide an exciting and family-friendly program featuring one of our area’s favorite sports – fishing. We look forward to Oxford not only being a backdrop for this great event, but also for Major League Fishing to become intertwined with our city’s character and spirit.”

The Fishing Clash Team Series features four major Cup events in 2025 — the Challenge, Heritage, Patriot, and Summit Cups — with 12 two-man teams of Bass Pro Tour anglers competing for a total of $560,000 in prize money.
