CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — A two-vehicle crash late Saturday night, November 1, claimed the lives of two Piedmont residents and left one child injured.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 11:48 p.m. on Alabama 9 near the 237-mile marker, about four miles south of Piedmont.
Authorities said Patryck L. Smith, 37, was driving a 2015 Ford Taurus when it collided head-on with a 2020 Toyota Camry driven by 40-year-old Kimberly Kelisha Eden Feazell. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A nine-year-old passenger in the Camry was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
