Calhoun County, AL – Local leaders and community partners gathered on Thursday, December 4, for the Calhoun Countywide Grant Celebration, an event recognizing five FY25 projects supported through a combined $44,409.95 in grant funding. The celebration was hosted by Senator Keith Kelley along with Representatives Chad Robertson. Also included in the grants were, Mark Gidley, Randy Wood, and Barbara Boyd, in partnership with the Coosa Valley RC&D Council.
Held at Choccolocco Kayak in Oxford, the event offered an opportunity for grantees to share updates on their work and the impact their projects are having across Calhoun County. Each of the five selected projects represents a different area of community need, from educational and environmental initiatives to public services and local improvement efforts.
The morning program included check presentations and photo opportunities, giving attendees a chance to highlight their partnerships and acknowledge the efforts of those involved. Light refreshments were provided as community members and elected officials visited with grantees and discussed the projects funded for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Calhoun Countywide Grant Celebration serves as an annual reminder of the value of collaborative investment in local communities. By directing funds toward diverse and impactful projects, state and regional leaders aim to strengthen resources, broaden opportunities, and recognize the work being done to improve quality of life for citizens throughout Calhoun County.
