Jacksonville Polar Plunge

JACKSONVILLE, AL – Jacksonville Parks & Recreation will host a Polar Plunge event on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the city pool located at 501 A Alexandria Road SW in Jacksonville.

Scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the event invites community members to close out the year with a cold-weather swim or participate as spectators. Organizers note that a lifeguard will be on duty throughout the event.

Plunger registration is $5 per person, while spectators may attend for $2 at the gate. Participants may choose to compete in one or more challenges designed to add a competitive and festive element to the evening.

Planned challenges include a Team Plunge Relay, where groups can take the plunge together and register under a team name; the Cold Feet Challenge, which tests how long participants can stand in the water; and Most Spirited Jumper, a crowd-judged category highlighting enthusiasm and creativity. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

The Polar Plunge is open to individuals and teams, and costumes are encouraged. Registration is available online through the city’s Parks & Recreation portal.
