Two Killed in Head-On Crash in Cleburne County

CLEBURNE COUNTY, AL – A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:51 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, resulted in two fatalities, according to authorities.

Jerre L. Dingler, 83, of Delta, was fatally injured when the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser he was driving collided head-on with a 2013 Honda CR-V driven by Destinee S. Easterwood, 29, also of Delta. Dingler was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Skylar C. Glenn, 27, of Lineville, a passenger in the Honda CR-V, was also fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities reported that Glenn was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Easterwood sustained injuries and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 213 mile marker, approximately eight miles southwest of Heflin in Cleburne County. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate. No further information was available at the time of release.
