Anniston, AL – Anniston Museums and Gardens will host a Focus on Figures program on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., spotlighting the life and work of Frederic Remington, a prominent American artist known for his depictions of the American West.
Held at Anniston Museums and Gardens, located on Museum Drive in Anniston, the program invites attendees to explore familiar names from the museum’s exhibit halls through personal stories and historical context. This installment will focus on Remington, whose bronze sculptures are featured in the Becoming America gallery.
In addition to learning about Remington’s life and artistic legacy, participants will take part in a hands-on activity, creating a miniature American West–inspired sculpture. The activity is designed to introduce a technique similar to the lost-wax process used by Remington in his sculptural work. The program is open to all ages.
Focus on Figures is included with daily museum admission and is free for Anniston Museums and Gardens members.
