ANNISTON, AL — Anniston Museums and Gardens will host Blades & Battle Gear: Weapons in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance on Friday, Jan. 24, 2026, offering visitors an interactive look at historical arms and armor from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the museum complex on Museum Drive in Anniston.
The three-hour, drop-in program invites attendees to explore authentic examples of medieval and Renaissance weaponry while learning about their design, use, and historical context. In addition to viewing historical pieces, participants will have the opportunity to handle replica weapons, providing a hands-on perspective on how these tools were used in warfare and daily life.
According to event details, the program will focus on craftsmanship, battlefield tactics, and the stories connected to weapons from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance period. The event is designed to be accessible to a wide audience, with visitors welcome to join at any point during the scheduled time.
Blades & Battle Gear is included with regular museum admission and is free for Anniston Museums and Gardens members.
