ANNISTON, AL — The City of Anniston will host a Mayor’s Ride and grand opening celebration for the new Chalk Line Pump Track on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
The event will begin at 9:00 a.m., with participants asked to have kickstands up promptly at that time. The ride will start at Wig’s Wheels, located at 1229 Noble Street in downtown Anniston, and will conclude at the newly constructed pump track at 11:00 a.m., where a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled.
According to event details, riders will gather at Wig’s Wheels before traveling down Noble Street and connecting to the Chief Ladiga Trail for a scenic ride to Michael Tucker Park and back. The route will end at the Chalk Line Pump Track, located at the intersection of West 14th Street and Grove Street.
Mayor Ciara Smith-Roston and community members are expected to participate in the group ride and celebration. Organizers note that riders may bring their own bicycles or rent one on-site. The event is open to all ages and skill levels.
The Chalk Line Pump Track is designed as an outdoor recreation feature that offers cyclists a continuous loop of rollers and berms, allowing riders to maintain momentum without pedaling. The addition marks a continued effort to expand recreational amenities in Anniston and enhance connectivity to the city’s trail system.
Community members are encouraged to arrive early and participate in the group ride or attend the ribbon cutting at 11:00 a.m.
