ANNISTON, AL — Residents and community groups are invited to take part in a neighborhood beautification effort as the City of Anniston prepares to host the Anniston Changers: Ward 3 Community Clean-Up on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
The three-hour volunteer event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT, with participants gathering at the South Highland Community Center, 229 S. Allen Avenue, Anniston, AL 36207, for check-in and assignments before heading into surrounding neighborhoods.
Organized by the City of Anniston, the clean-up initiative is designed to bring together residents, families, churches, civic groups, and local organizations to help remove litter and improve the appearance of streets throughout the Ward 3 area.
According to organizers, the project will focus on litter removal and community beautification across several streets in South Anniston, including Smith Street, Grant Street, Allen Avenue, Leighton Avenue, Wilmer Avenue, Cooper Avenue, Pine Avenue, Walnut Avenue, Moore Avenue, Cobb Avenue, Glen Addie Avenue, Chestnut Avenue, Front Street, Spruce Avenue, Mulberry Avenue, Constantine Avenue, Hanna Avenue, Draper Avenue, and Johnson Avenue.
Volunteers are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early for check-in. While supplies will be provided, participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor work.
The Anniston Changers program aims to foster civic pride and encourage community involvement by organizing volunteer projects that support neighborhood improvement across the city.
