ANNISTON, AL — A well-known local farm is asking for the public’s help after one of its most beloved animals, an alpaca named Chappy, was reported missing.
Redbird Willow Farm, located at 1103 Lenlock Lane in Anniston, confirmed that Chappy recently disappeared under circumstances that remain unclear. According to owner Michele Hornsby, there were no visible signs of a predator or damage to fencing or enclosures, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
Hornsby described Chappy as more than just a farm animal, noting his gentle nature and strong connection with visitors.
“Chappy is friendly like a puppy,” Hornsby said. “He loves people and has always been one of our sweetest animals.”
Chappy has become a familiar presence to families who visit the farm for seasonal events, educational experiences, and animal encounters. His calm and approachable demeanor made him especially popular with children, often serving as one of the first animals guests would meet upon arrival.
The unexpected nature of his disappearance has left the farm searching for answers and turning to the community for support.
Hornsby is asking residents throughout Anniston and surrounding areas in Calhoun County to remain alert and report any possible sightings. She emphasized that even the smallest piece of information could help bring Chappy home.
A reward is being offered for information that leads to his safe return.
Community members who may have seen Chappy or have any relevant information are encouraged to contact Redbird Willow Farm directly.
