CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — Calhoun County Revenue Commissioner Tim Hodges has shared details of his background, experience, and priorities as he seeks another term in office.
According to information provided by Hodges and his office, he is a lifelong resident of Anniston and brings decades of public service experience to the role. Hodges is a graduate of Anniston High School and later earned an associate degree from Northwood University before beginning his career in public service.
Hodges, 62, has served as Revenue Commissioner since 2021. Prior to that, he represented District 2 on the Calhoun County Commission from 2010 to 2021. During that time, Hodges said he developed a reputation for steady leadership and collaboration with fellow commissioners, departments, and community stakeholders.
In his current role, Hodges oversees an office responsible for more than 65,000 transactions annually and the collection of over $65 million for state, county, and municipal governments. According to Hodges, the office includes more than 35 employees across six departments.
Hodges said his focus has been on maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring accuracy, and fostering a strong workplace culture within the department.
As he seeks another term, Hodges identified ongoing modernization efforts within the office as a central priority.
He described these efforts as a long-term transformation aimed at improving internal systems, enhancing customer service, and ensuring the office remains responsive to the needs of Calhoun County residents.
Hodges also stated that he plans to work with state legislators on policy initiatives intended to provide relief for residents, particularly those on fixed incomes. Among the proposals he supports are permanent homestead and income tax exemptions.
While Hodges has not outlined a specific first-day initiative, he said continued progress—both operationally and legislatively—will remain the foundation of his approach.
Hodges attributed his leadership style to years of collaboration with local officials, county departments, and community organizations, emphasizing that strong teamwork and community relationships are key to delivering effective public service.
