OXFORD, AL — Local organizations are inviting the community to come together in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month with a special event focused on awareness, advocacy, and action.
The program, hosted by CASA of the Cheaha Region and Calhoun Cleburne Children’s Center, will take place at Veterans Memorial Park at the Oxford Civic Center.
Organizers say the event is designed to bring together community members, child advocates, and local leaders to highlight the importance of protecting children and supporting families across Calhoun and Cleburne counties.
Circuit Court Judge Peggy Lacher is scheduled to deliver a call to action during the brief program, encouraging continued community involvement and awareness efforts. The event is sponsored by Bill and Jeanie McAdams.
Officials with the hosting organizations emphasized that Child Abuse Prevention Month serves as an important reminder of the role communities play in safeguarding children. The program aims to raise awareness, promote prevention efforts, and recognize those working to support vulnerable children and families.
The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and show their support for child advocacy initiatives in the region.
