Calhoun County, AL – A community-driven fundraiser held last week at Calhoun County Animal Control brought together local supporters, volunteers, and animal advocates to raise funds for Rockin P Rescue during a live event hosted by Jordan’s Way.
The three-hour live fundraiser took place on Thursday, April 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as part of Jordan’s Way national tour. The event combined online engagement with on-site activities, encouraging viewers to donate, share, and participate in real-time challenges designed to support the care of animals in need.
Throughout the livestream, organizers emphasized that every contribution—whether $5 or $500—helps provide food, shelter, and medical care for animals awaiting adoption. The event featured interactive segments where donations triggered activities for the animals and volunteers, including treats for dogs and lighthearted challenges involving staff and supporters.
Early in the event, donations began climbing quickly, with strong community participation pushing totals into the thousands within the first hour. Volunteers and supporters worked both online and on-site to encourage giving, highlighting the urgency of continued support for local animal rescue efforts.
By the end of the fundraiser, Rockin P Rescue and Calhoun County Animal Control had received significant financial support, reflecting the impact of community engagement and the reach of the livestream format. The event also spotlighted the ongoing work of volunteers who assist with fostering, training, and daily care of rescued animals.
While the live event has ended, donations are still being accepted. Community members who wish to contribute can do so here:
Organizers encourage continued sharing of the fundraiser and participation from those who were unable to watch live, noting that ongoing donations remain critical to sustaining rescue operations and supporting animals in need.
