OXFORD, AL — The CREATE Regional Workforce Center will host a Regional Open House today, Wednesday, April 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., inviting students, families, and community members to learn more about its career-focused programs.
The event will take place at CREATE’s campus, located at CREATE Campus. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet students, teachers, counselors, and career coaches, who will be available to answer questions and assist with scheduling for the 2026–2027 school year.
CREATE currently serves high school students at no cost from multiple school systems, including Anniston City Schools, Jacksonville City Schools, Calhoun County Schools, Cleburne County Schools, Talladega County Schools, and Oxford City Schools. Officials note that Pell City Schools students are expected to begin participating in August 2026.
The center is open to any public school student interested in attending, particularly those entering grades 10 through 12 in the upcoming academic year. Staff members will assist families with coordinating enrollment and scheduling through each student’s home school system.
In addition to high school programming, CREATE offers free evening commercial construction classes for adults ages 18 and older. These classes are funded through a grant provided by the Alabama CICT Board.
CREATE operates as a regional workforce training center, providing career and technical education pathways in areas such as engineering, robotics, green power, computer science, modern manufacturing, cybersecurity, public safety and law enforcement, and its IMPACT program, which includes industrial automation, electrical technology, mechatronics, and electronic engineering technology. Some programs also offer dual enrollment opportunities through Gadsden State Community College.
The open house is free and open to the public, offering an opportunity for prospective students and families to explore available programs and ask questions ahead of the upcoming school year.
