ANNISTON, AL — Runners and walkers gathered in downtown Anniston for the YMCA and Anniston Orthopaedics Spring 5K Run/Walk, an early morning event that brought participants of all ages together for fitness and community engagement.
The race began at 8 a.m. from 29 West 14th Street, guiding participants along a certified out-and-back course through historic downtown Anniston. The route featured a few small hills but remained largely flat, offering an accessible experience for both seasoned runners and those participating at a more relaxed pace.
In addition to the race itself, organizers provided door prizes and created a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere for attendees. The event emphasized community wellness while offering an opportunity for participants to enjoy the city’s historic surroundings.
The Spring 5K Run/Walk is part of ongoing efforts by the YMCA and Anniston Orthopaedics to encourage active lifestyles and bring residents together through organized events.
