JACKSONVILLE, AL — The Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts will officially open its doors with a one-night-only concert event on Wednesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m., celebrating the launch of the new facility with a performance featuring Randy Owen, Alabama, and additional special guests.
The grand opening celebration will highlight the university’s newest cultural venue, named in honor of Owen, a country music icon, alumnus, and current board member. Organizers say the evening will include surprise appearances and performances as part of a tribute to both Owen’s legacy and the center’s significance to the campus and surrounding community.
The event also serves as a fundraiser supporting the Randy Owen Center, which is expected to function as a regional hub for arts and entertainment. Ticket prices for the concert range from $150 to $250, with limited seating still available.
University officials note that the opening marks a major milestone, positioning the center as a destination for future performances, events, and educational opportunities. In addition to attending the concert, supporters have the option to contribute through seat and space naming opportunities within the facility.
Those interested in attending or supporting the project are encouraged to make arrangements ahead of the event, as availability is expected to be limited.
