Attorney General Marshall Announces Conviction of Pike County Man on Possession of Child Pornography

Montgomery, AL – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the conviction of a man on possession of child pornography. Yuchen Wu, 34, of Troy, pleaded guilty in Pike County Circuit Court to one count of possession of obscene matter depicting a person under the age of 17.

Wu was sentenced to 10 years in prison, though his sentence was split, requiring him to serve one year in prison followed by two years of supervised probation. Additionally, Wu will be required to register as a sex offender and comply with all stipulations under Alabama’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

The successful prosecution was handled by the Attorney General’s Criminal Trials Division, with notable contributions from Assistant Attorneys General Jillian Jordan Evans and Jasmyne Crimiel, along with Special Agents from the Investigations Division and the Cybercrime Unit.
