Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association and ACCS Collaborate to Provide Scholarships for Automotive Careers

Scholarship application open for students interested in automotive manufacturing

Gadsden, AL – In a strategic move to bolster the workforce in Alabama’s automotive manufacturing sector, the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has forged a partnership with the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) to offer scholarships to residents aspiring to pursue careers in the state’s thriving automotive industry.

The collaborative initiative aims to allocate funds for $4,000 scholarships, catering to the costs associated with training at Gadsden State Community College or any other ACCS institution. This opportunity is open to high school seniors, current college students, and Alabama residents with an interest in pursuing higher education. The application process can be accessed at www.dreamitdoitalabama.com/aama/, and the deadline for submission is March 28.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Successful candidates will have the flexibility to utilize the scholarship for summer or fall tuition, along with expenses related to books and fees associated with their approved program of study.

Completing the scholarship application requires a comprehensive submission, including a completed application form, participation in a new orientation course specific to the automotive industry and the AAMA scholarship, a signed reference letter, an unofficial transcript from high school or college, a resume, an essay, and a headshot photo. Applicants seeking assistance during the application process can avail themselves of guidance by calling 1-855-206-2671.

Gadsden State Community College offers a range of qualified programs covered by the scholarship, including Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Precision Machining, Automotive Service Technology, and Engineering Technology.

Gadsden State has been at the forefront of producing successful AAMA scholarship recipients, leading all ACCS institutions for three consecutive years. In January, AAMA granted scholarships to 30 deserving Gadsden State students, highlighting the college’s commitment to providing top-notch education and fostering future leaders in the automotive sector.
