Anniston, AL – The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will host its Spring 2026 Community Garden Expo on Tuesday, February 17, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anniston Museum and Gardens’ Longleaf Event Hall, located at 920 Museum Drive in Anniston, AL.
Organized by Alabama Extension’s home horticulture team, the expo is designed to provide educational opportunities and resources for gardeners and community garden leaders. The daylong event will include presentations focused on sustainable gardening practices, techniques for increasing harvest yields, and strategies for maintaining productive gardens throughout the year.
Attendees can also participate in a seed swap, receive a tree through a scheduled giveaway, and visit local community gardens as part of the program. Organizers say the event offers opportunities for networking and collaboration among gardeners and community organizations across the region.
Educational sessions planned for the expo will cover a variety of topics, including planting for year-round harvests, composting for community gardens, measuring garden success, and incorporating fruit trees and shrub crops. Additional sessions will focus on seed saving, equipment maintenance, and micro-gardening using five-gallon containers.
The event will also feature guided tours of two local community gardens, allowing participants to observe established gardens and learn from local growers.
Registration for the Spring 2026 Community Garden Expo is $10 and includes lunch and snacks. Registration is required for attendance and can be completed online at www.aces.edu/go/CGExpo.
