Alabama Farmers Federation Celebrates FarmPAC-Endorsed Wins in General Election

Alabama Farmers Federation Congratulates FarmPAC Candidates

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Farmers Federation congratulated its FarmPAC-endorsed candidates on their success in Tuesday’s general election, with 22 out of 23 candidates securing victories across key races. The Federation’s grassroots political action committee focused on supporting candidates they believe align with farmer-friendly policies.

“It was a big night for our country and our state,” said Federation President Jimmy Parnell. “Across America, families, farmers, and business owners are concerned about the economy, secure borders, national defense, and government overreach. On Tuesday, voters from all walks of life took a stand for liberty, opportunity, and security.”

Parnell noted that former President Donald Trump’s success in battleground states and a Republican flip of the U.S. Senate could pave the way for federal policies supportive of agriculture. He emphasized the challenges farmers have faced with recent economic pressures, including high interest rates and increased regulations, and expressed optimism about potential relief with a new administration.

“Many farms would not have survived four more years of Biden-Harris policies,” Parnell said, citing record inflation and the impact of regulations. “President Trump has a proven track record of reducing energy costs, strengthening the economy, and holding trade partners accountable. We look forward to working with his administration and Congress to roll back burdensome regulations, provide economic relief to farmers, and pass a farm bill that puts agriculture first.”

Additionally, Parnell highlighted health care reform as a critical issue for the Federation, noting the organization’s intent to collaborate with officials in Washington and Montgomery to improve access to affordable, quality health care for members.

One endorsed candidate, Caroleene Dobson, Republican nominee for Alabama’s Congressional District 2, was not successful. Parnell praised her campaign and commitment, stating that Dobson’s outreach and dedication earned the respect of Federation members, and he expressed confidence in her potential for future public service roles.

Parnell also congratulated Congressman-elect Shomari Figures, D-Mobile, on his win in District 2, an area with a strong agricultural presence. The Federation looks forward to working with Figures to support farmers in the district.

Federation-backed candidates performed well in several key state judicial races, with all eleven endorsed candidates for the Alabama Supreme Court and state appellate courts winning their races. Parnell praised Alabama’s business-friendly judicial environment, attributing it to conservative interpretations of the law that he said have fostered growth in the state.

In the Alabama State Board of Education races, four FarmPAC-endorsed candidates, including newcomers Kelly Mooney and Allen Long, secured seats alongside incumbents Jackie Zeigler and Tonya Smith Chestnut. Parnell expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with the Board of Education and State Superintendent Eric Mackey on education and career readiness initiatives.

The FarmPAC-endorsed candidates who won included:

  • Donald J. Trump, President of the United States
  • Barry Moore, 1st Congressional District
  • Mike Rogers, 3rd Congressional District
  • Robert Aderholt, 4th Congressional District
  • Dale Strong, 5th Congressional District
  • Gary Palmer, 6th Congressional District
  • Sarah Stewart, Chief Justice, Alabama Supreme Court
  • Additional Alabama Supreme Court and appellate court justices
  • Twinkle Cavanaugh, Public Service Commission President
  • Board of Education members Jackie Zeigler, Kelly Mooney, Tonya Smith Chestnut, and Allen Long

The Federation views these election results as an opportunity to advance agricultural priorities and support the interests of Alabama’s farming communities.
