Alabama – Alabama is set to launch its annual “Don’t Drop It on Alabama” Spring Cleanup this April, a statewide initiative coordinated by Alabama PALS (People Against a Littered State). This highly anticipated event invites all 67 Alabama counties, municipalities, and volunteer groups to participate in a unified effort to combat litter and promote environmental stewardship. For 2025, over 140 cities, counties, and volunteer groups are joining forces to make a lasting impact on their communities.
The “Don’t Drop It on Alabama” Spring Cleanup is just one of several environmental initiatives led by PALS. The organization also oversees the Alabama Coastal Cleanup, the Alabama Clean Campus Program, and the Alabama Adopt-A-Mile and Adopt-A-Stream programs. Each of these efforts is made possible through partnerships with businesses, industry leaders, state associations, and agencies dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and volunteerism throughout the state.
PALS proudly continues its collaboration with Coca-Cola United, which has once again stepped in as the Title Sponsor for the 2025 cleanup. This partnership has played a crucial role in expanding the event’s focus to include increased recycling efforts for plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
“Coca-Cola United is proud of our role as the Title Sponsor of the statewide 2025 ‘Don’t Drop It on Alabama’ Spring Cleanup,” said Andy Britton, director of public affairs and communications for Coca-Cola United. “We are especially pleased with our annual partnership with Alabama PALS as we all move forward toward our goal of a world without waste.”
The 2025 cleanup initiative is further bolstered by the support of PALS Sustaining Partners, which include the Alabama Department of Transportation, Alfa Insurance, Vulcan Materials Co., Honda, the Association of County Commissions of Alabama, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, and Alabama Farmers Cooperative.
Additionally, Alabama PALS continues its valued partnership with the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), which actively encourages participation from students and faculty members at its 24 community and technical colleges.
“The Alabama Community College System is proud to partner with PALS for the annual Spring Cleanup litter pickup event. It is truly an honor to participate in this important initiative each year,” said David Walters with ACCS. “As Alabamians, it is our shared responsibility to preserve the beauty of our state by keeping it litter-free. Together, we can make a lasting impact and inspire future generations to care for our environment.”
In preparation for the event, PALS has distributed approximately 150,000 bags statewide, along with additional materials and supplies to participating cities, counties, and volunteer groups. Individuals interested in making a difference in their communities are encouraged to contact their local coordinator to join an existing cleanup effort or organize their own within their respective area.
