MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen is encouraging voters to prepare for the June 16, 2026 Primary Runoff Election by reviewing important voting information before heading to the polls.
Allen said AlabamaVotes.gov remains the state’s primary resource for election information, allowing voters to verify their registration status, locate their polling place, and review sample ballots before Election Day.
Polls across Alabama will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Voters are required to present a valid photo identification when voting in person or by absentee ballot.
Election results will be posted at individual polling locations following the close of voting. Cumulative statewide results will also be available through the Secretary of State’s office on AlabamaVotes.gov.
Allen also expressed appreciation for local election officials, including probate judges, circuit clerks, sheriffs, boards of registrars, and poll workers, for their role in administering elections throughout the state.
Meanwhile, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey also encouraged residents to participate in the runoff election.
“Good government begins with an engaged citizenry. And every Alabama citizen has a responsibility to make their voice heard at the ballot box,” Ivey said. “It is critical Alabamians get out and vote in Tuesday’s Runoff Election to help choose the leaders who will guide Alabama’s continued success and momentum forward.”
The runoff election will determine winners in races where no candidate received the required majority vote during the primary election. Additional election information is available through AlabamaVotes.gov.
