Alabama Politicians Condemn Hamas Attacks on Israel, Call for Strong U.S. Response

Hamas Attacks on Israel

Washington D.C. – Alabama’s political leaders have expressed their strong condemnation of the recent attacks on Israel by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists. Among those vocal on this issue are U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-03) and U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala).

Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, issued a statement in which he declared his solidarity with the people of Israel. He denounced the attacks as a “cold-blooded assault” and emphasized Israel’s right to defend itself against such violence. Rogers pledged continued U.S. support for Israel through robust security assistance, highlighting the enduring alliance between the two nations.

U.S. Senator Katie Britt also joined in condemning the Hamas attacks, expressing her support for the people of Israel. She characterized the ongoing attacks as “barbaric” and “unprecedented.” Senator Britt, like many Alabamians and Americans, stands firmly with Israel, describing it as the United States’ “greatest ally, friend, and partner.”

Senator Britt stressed Israel’s right to self-defense and called for a robust response to the terrorist attacks. She pointed out the need for strength to deter aggression, emphasizing that “peace will only come through strength.”

The senator also voiced concerns about the Biden Administration’s approach to international affairs, particularly in its dealings with Iran. She referenced the controversial $6 billion payment to Iran and suggested that this approach has emboldened adversaries and put Israel at risk.

Senator Britt’s strong stance on these matters is part of a larger discourse in Washington, with her and other senators demanding accountability for actions involving a senior Pentagon official with ties to the Iranian government.

In addition, Senator Britt criticized the Biden Administration’s decision to allow Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to enter the United States in September. She had previously joined colleagues in sending a letter expressing concerns over Raisi’s record and urging the denial of visas to him and his staff.

Senator Britt’s visit to Israel earlier this year, during her first official overseas trip as a U.S. Senator, allowed her to witness firsthand the threats posed by Iranian-backed terrorists and further solidified her commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel partnership.
