Oxford, AL – The 2026 Alabama Teams Championship, a sanctioned table tennis tournament, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Friendship Community Center. The event, organized by Alabama Table Tennis in partnership with the Oxford Table Tennis Club and North East Alabama Table Tennis, will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with competition beginning at 9 a.m.
The tournament is open to United States Association of Table Tennis (USATT) members, with a tournament pass available for non-members who wish to participate. Teams must consist of two or three players, and the field will be limited to 20 teams. Entry fees are set at $100 per team, and registration is handled through OmniPong.
The event will feature a structured team format, beginning with round-robin group play followed by single-elimination playoffs. Teams will be divided into upper and lower tiers based on ratings, ensuring balanced competition across divisions.
Each team match will include a combination of singles and doubles play, with teams competing in a best-of-five match format. Individual singles matches will be played as best three out of five games, while doubles matches will be best two out of three.
Participants are required to check in by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Teams that are not present on time may be subject to default.
Prize money and awards will be distributed across divisions, with the upper tier champion receiving a $300 prize and the runner-up earning $150. Additional prize money and medals will be awarded in Class A, Class B, and Class C divisions, depending on placement. Total prize amounts may be adjusted based on the number of teams entered.
The tournament will be held at the Friendship Community Center, located at 2930 Friendship Road in Oxford. Official USATT-approved equipment will be used throughout the event, and all participants must adhere to USATT rules and dress code requirements.
