American Legion Post 111 to Host Flag History Program May 28 at Cane Creek Gardens

History of the American Flag

OXFORD, AL — In honor of Memorial Day and the enduring symbolism of the American flag, American Legion Post 111 will present a special Flag History Program on Tuesday, May 28 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cane Creek Community Gardens at McClellan.

This educational “Lunch and Learn” event is open to the public and will explore the origins, meaning, and proper display of the American flag. Attendees will learn the significance of the flag’s colors, the history behind its design, the correct method of folding it, and the meaning behind the Pledge of Allegiance.
