Anniston and Piedmont Municipal Election Runoffs Held September 23

Election Results

ANNISTON & PIEDMONT, AL — Voters in Anniston and Piedmont returned to the polls on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, to decide key municipal runoff races.

In Anniston’s Ward 2, Erica Ve’Nise Tolson defeated incumbent Councilman Demetric “DD” Roberts. Tolson secured 215 votes to Roberts’ 155.

In another Anniston race, Donald Gilley claimed the at-large seat on the Anniston school board. Gilley won with 779 votes, or 75.3 percent, against Robert Houston, who received 255 votes, or 24.7 percent.

In Piedmont, Brittney Williams was elected to the City Council seat for District 1. Williams received 46 votes, while her opponent, Robert Dunbar, finished with 36.

The results remain unofficial until certification is complete. Once certified, these winners will join the candidates elected during the August municipal elections. Results from those earlier contests can be found on the Calhoun Journal’s election coverage.
