Anniston Community Development Department Opens Funding Opportunities for Crucial Projects

Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston’s Community Development Department is actively encouraging project proposals for funding in four vital categories, as announced in a recent notice. Funding Applications will be accepted from March 1, 2024, until March 31, 2024, providing an opportunity for community members to contribute to the city’s growth and development.

To aid interested applicants, the Community Development Department has organized an informative Funding Application Workshop scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2024, at 9:00 AM CT. The workshop will take place at Anniston City Hall, situated at 4309 McClellan Blvd, Anniston, AL 36206. 1. Public Facilities & Improvements / Economic Dev. / Housing Activities: This category covers projects aimed at enhancing public spaces, stimulating economic development, and improving housing activities within the community.

2. Public Services: Funding is available for initiatives that directly benefit the public, with a focus on improving the overall well-being and quality of life for Anniston residents.

3. CHDO Certification: Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Certification supports organizations dedicated to developing and preserving affordable housing for low-income individuals and families.

4. *HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program: This program focuses on funding projects that address the critical need for affordable housing, contributing to the city’s overall housing development strategy.
