Anniston Event Alert: NEABA Workshop on Cross Training to Enhance Fitness

Anniston, AL – Fitness enthusiasts in Anniston and surrounding areas are invited to participate in an upcoming workshop focused on the importance and benefits of cross-training. Hosted by the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA) in collaboration with the Anniston Runners Club, the event aims to educate attendees on various cross-training techniques to improve overall fitness levels.

The workshop, titled “Importance of Cross Training: IMPROVE YOUR FITNESS!”, promises to be an informative and engaging session for individuals involved in a range of activities, including mountain biking, road running, road biking, gravel biking, and trail running. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to fitness, there’s something for everyone at this workshop.

Bear and Sons

Scheduled speakers include experts in orthopedic surgery, nutrition, bike mechanics, local trail running, and law enforcement. Topics will cover common running and cycling injuries, nutrition strategies for endurance in hot weather, bike maintenance basics, local cross-training options such as Dirty Soles Trail Running, trail updates and etiquette, safety tips for outdoor activities, the benefits of weight training, women’s running groups, and updates from local fitness organizations.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the NEABA/Anniston Runners Club Headquarters located at 26 W. 10th Street in Anniston. Light snacks will be provided for attendees.

Brooke Nelson, organizer of the event, encourages interested individuals to RSVP to secure their spot and ensure adequate refreshments are available.
