Anniston Murder suspect Larryl Gaston

On Sunday at approximately 7:00 PM at the 300 block of Elm Street in Anniston, police officers were dispatched to a possible gunshot victim. When officers arrived they located Antonio D. Williams, 38, of Anniston laying on the ground near a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Williams was transported to RMC where he later succumbed to the injuries.

Anniston Police Investigators were able to learn that a physical altercation between Williams and the suspect, Larryl Jerod Gaston, 56, from Anniston, occurred just prior to the shooting. Gaston was located later by Anniston Investigators and was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Calhoun County Jail where he was booked in for a Homicide Charge. He is currently at the jail with a bond to be set at a later time. 

This is the second Homicide in Anniston within a month that resulted from an argument between two people that escalated into a shooting (see previous article). 


 

UPDATE: August 9, 2021 8:00 PM – A bond has been set at $60,000 and the  charges have been changed to Murder.
