The call to prayer follows an announcement from the department and Chief Waldrep’s family on Friday morning, sharing that he had suffered a major heart attack and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. As the Chief continues to recover, the outpouring of concern and well wishes from friends, colleagues, and residents has only grown stronger.

“Please pray for healing and clarity for our family as we face this unexpected event,” the family shared in a heartfelt message. “During this unbelievably difficult time, all I can do is try to be as strong as you’ve always taught me to be. We love you, Chief.”
