Kicking off the holiday season on a festive note, The City of Anniston, Alabama, and Mainstreet Anniston invite the community to the 2023 Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 1st, at 5:00 PM. This enchanting event will take place in front of the tree located at 12th and Noble.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is a beloved annual tradition featuring a brief ceremony with Christmas carols, a public prayer, and the official lighting of the tree. Following the ceremony, attendees can enjoy complimentary cocoa, coffee, and cookies, fostering a sense of warmth and community spirit.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to gather in front of the beautifully adorned tree to share in the joy of the season. This festive ceremony is the perfect way to officially welcome the holiday season to Anniston.
The highlight of the Christmas season in Anniston is undeniably the Downtown Anniston Christmas Parade, scheduled for Tuesday, December 5th, at 6:30 PM. To secure a spot in the parade, interested participants are reminded to submit their applications as soon as possible. The parade tradition will commence at the Anniston City Meeting Center, beginning its route down Noble Street. The grandstand and announcer, stationed at 12th & Noble Street, will provide a prime viewing location for spectators. For those seeking a comfortable vantage point, bleacher seating will be available at the intersection of 12th & Noble Street.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, food trucks will be stationed in the 12th & Noble parking lot, offering delicious treats for parade-goers. And once the last float has made its way down the street, Classic On Noble will open its doors for a special opportunity to capture pictures with Santa, creating lasting memories for families.
