Anniston Hike on Coldwater Mountain New Years Eve

This will be about a 9-mile in and back out hike from the Coldwater Springs Trailhead to the mountain’s peak at an altitude of 1709 ft. Although this will be a mostly out and back hike, some alternate trails will be used on about half of the return trip back to the trailhead. Participants should pack a lunch with plenty to drink. The meeting time and location for this hike will be 8:00 am at the Coldwater Springs Trailhead located in the Coldwater community of Oxford, AL. To reach the trailhead, take exit 179 on I-20 travel and travel north on AL 202. Continue across US Hwy 78 and take the next right at the trailhead sign and then right again at the next sign at the gated road leading up to the trailhead.
