At approximately 6:30 pm on November 10, 2021 the Anniston Police Department PIO, Lt. Tim Suits issued a press release that they had made an arrest in the Christian Nobles murder. The suspect, 19 year old Brancen Tripp Champion, was taken into custody and charged with murder. He was brought to the Calhoun County Jail and given a $45,000 bond.

Lead Investigator, Doug White, and the investigative team was credited with quick arrest in this homicide case. Chief Nick Bowles stated “I am proud of how quickly our investigators were able to identify a suspect and take him into custody.” Bowles went on to say that there were multiple witnesses that came forward and helped investigators by providing information about the homicide. The Chief also stated “Police work is not like a T.V. show, we need the help from the community to assist us with these types of investigations. I am very happy that our community works with our officers as much as they do. It’s a credit to them for creating that bond where people trust the police.”

Bowles went on to say that this was an isolated incident and not a random act as the suspect and victim knew each other. This investigation is still ongoing and Anniston Investigators are asking for anyone that has more information about this case to call (256) 240-4087
