ANNISTON, AL – The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County is inviting the community to an exciting afternoon with best-selling author Marie Bostwick on Sunday, May 4, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the library, located at 108 E 10th Street in Anniston.
Bostwick, known for her heartfelt and inspiring novels, will discuss her latest release, The Book Club for Troublesome Women, a story set in the transformative 1960s. Centered around Margaret Ryan, a suburban housewife seemingly living the American dream, the novel explores the deeper questions of identity, fulfillment, and friendship through the lens of a newly-formed book club. As Margaret and three other women—Charlotte, Bitsy, and Viv—delve into controversial works like The Feminine Mystique, they confront societal expectations and their own secret desires for more meaningful lives.
The event is free to attend, but registration is required. Those who register at publiclibrary.cc/register will receive a coupon for 20% off a copy of The Book Club for Troublesome Women and be entered for a chance to win a free copy. (Participants must be present to win.)
This promises to be a lively and thought-provoking afternoon, offering readers a chance to hear directly from Bostwick about her inspirations, characters, and the enduring power of friendship and self-discovery.
