Anniston, AL – The Anniston Lions Club is gearing up for their much-anticipated 26th Annual Run for Sight event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 20th, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at 171 Town Center Dr, Anniston, AL 36205.
This community tradition serves a noble cause, with proceeds from the 5K/8K Run For Sight benefitting both the Alabama Lions Sight Conservation and the Anniston Lions Local Sight Fund. Participants will not only enjoy a fulfilling morning of exercise but also contribute to vital sight conservation efforts in the local community and beyond.
Runners can expect a USATF Certified course, renowned for its fast and scenic route through the picturesque McClellan area. Whether tackling the 5K or the certified 8K course, participants are encouraged to push themselves to new personal bests while taking in the beauty of the former Ft. McClellan development.
Registration for the event will commence at 6:45 am, with the race being chip-timed to ensure accurate results for all participants. An awards ceremony will follow, with results posted after the last runner crosses the finish line. Attendees can collect their well-deserved awards at the registration tables.
To ensure participants stay hydrated throughout the race, volunteers will be stationed at water stops along the course, diligently providing water cups on trays. However, runners are also encouraged to bring their own water to stay cool and refreshed amidst the warm morning weather.
Parking will be available at the McClellan Park Medical Mall located at 171 Town Center Dr. in Anniston, ensuring convenient access to the event venue.
