Anniston, AL – On June 22, 2023, at approximately 10:05 am, officers of the Anniston Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Skyline Drive in reference to a “shots fired” call. While on their way to the call, officers were notified that several vehicles were leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.
Officers made contact with one of the vehicles near the intersection of Noble Street and 21st Street, and conducted a traffic stop. While making contact with the occupants, officers found a male who was deceased from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as B/M Traveno L. Burnett (39) of Anniston, Alabama.
During the course of this investigation, APD Investigators were able to develop a suspect in this case. B/F Tanquilla LaShay Thomas (35) is wanted for the murder of Burnett. A warrant has been issued for her arrest and there is no bond set due to Aniah’s Law. Thomas is considered armed and dangerous.
Thomas Tramaine Cunningham (36) is also wanted for questioning in connection to this case.
