Anniston Man Succumbs to Injuries Following Single-Vehicle Crash

CALHOUN COUNTY – A single-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday, Jan. 13, has resulted in the death of an Anniston man.

Michael L. Casalini, 60, was critically injured when the 2004 Ford F-150 he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. Following the crash, Casalini was transported to University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) St. Vincent’s Hospital in Pell City for medical treatment. He was later transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for further care.

On Monday, Feb. 10, Casalini succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The incident occurred on U.S. 431 near the 235-mile marker, approximately one mile northwest of Saks in Calhoun County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
