Anniston Museum and Gardens Hosts Intro to Nature Journaling Workshop

intro to nature Journaling

Anniston, AL – The Anniston Museum and Gardens is excited to host an introductory workshop on nature journaling on July 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The event will take place at 800 Museum Drive, Anniston, AL 36206, and is open to participants of all ages.

Nature journaling involves drawing or writing in response to natural surroundings, offering a relaxing way to connect with nature and create a personal journal of unique observations. The workshop will be led by the museum’s education team, who will guide attendees in exploring the art of nature journaling.

As described on Nature Journaling Week’s website, nature journaling is more about the practice and personal connection with the natural world than about artistic skill. The activity encourages participants to slow down, observe, and appreciate the intricate details and wonders of nature.

Participants do not need to be artists to enjoy this workshop; the focus is on personal expression and engagement with nature. The museum will provide journals and all necessary journaling materials for the event.

The program is included with museum admission and is free for Anniston Museum and Gardens members. As Ray Bradbury famously said, “Stuff your eyes with wonder…live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.”

Join us at the Anniston Museum and Gardens for an afternoon of creative exploration and connection with the natural world.
