Anniston, AL – The Anniston Museum and Gardens will host two horticulture-focused events on Thursday, June 19, as part of its “Third Thursday” series, offering visitors opportunities to expand their plant collections and deepen their gardening knowledge.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Longleaf Botanical Gardens will hold its monthly Plant Sale at the LBG Greenhouses. A wide variety of plants will be available, including trees, shrubs, native species, and tropicals. Proceeds support the continued growth and development of the botanical gardens. To access the sale, visitors should drive past the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum, then turn left at the Monarch Butterfly marker.
Also at 10 a.m., attendees can participate in “Plumeria 101,” a beginner-friendly class and garden tour designed to introduce the basics of growing and propagating Plumeria. Known for their vibrant blooms and fragrant scents—including notes of gardenia, coconut, and musk—Plumerias are a tropical favorite for gardens and patios. The session will conclude with a guided tour of the newly developed Plumeria Grove. Cuttings and plants will be available for purchase following the class.
Admission to Third Thursday events is $5 per person and free for Anniston Museums and Gardens members.
