Anniston, AL – Two family-friendly events are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 at Anniston Museums and Gardens, offering opportunities to celebrate cultural traditions and learn about animal ambassadors.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Berman Museum will host a Chinese New Year celebration honoring the Year of the Fiery Horse. The event will feature colorful lion dances at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., along with hands-on crafts, interactive activities, and samples of traditional foods.
Organizers encourage families to attend and explore the sights, sounds, and flavors associated with the holiday. Visitors may come and go throughout the event timeframe.
Admission for the Chinese New Year celebration is $18 for adults and $16 for children ages 4–17, with members receiving a $4 discount. Registration includes access to the Berman Museum galleries. Pre-registration is encouraged as space is limited.
Later in the afternoon, Anniston Museums and Gardens will present its monthly “Saturday Alive!” program at 2 p.m. The guest-favorite series highlights a new topic each month and introduces attendees to several of the museum’s animal ambassadors.
The Saturday Alive! program is included with museum admission and is free for Anniston Museums and Gardens members.
